The Pennsylvania Lightning is a development team of Pennsylvania-based “Espoir” cyclists (under age 25) that promotes competitive excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, talent development and brand enhancement.
Focus
The PA Lightning is Pennsylvania’s official “home team” for the 2008 American Eagle Outfitters Tour of Pennsylvania, presented by Highmark Healthy High 5 set for June 24 to 29. Team member preparation will be featured in sponsor and media promotions leading up to the June event, the richest Espoir race in the world where the Lightning will face twenty-one other top teams from around the United States and some ten nations.
The team will compete in regional events leading up to the Tour and will also target the U23 national road and track championships later in the season. If funds are available, members of the team will travel to Europe in July for four to six weeks of international competition.
